I enjoyed that there was an actual story line to this episode, on my last blog about the previous episode there was a story line however I did not like it, maybe it was just because I don't find curling to be so entertaining at all. Or that I had to probably actually thinking when watching that episode. Whereas this one, you really didn't need to think at all to understand that jokes - no intellectualness needed. lol. This episode reminds me of a Family guy episode ( a little too much). Maybe stolen ideas? It is not exactly the same however, it does depict the family having black ties and making the jokes and puns to go along with that theme. In FG Peters wife's family (Lois) abused Peter and his ancestors which were indeed black. However, in this episode it was more along the lines of having a hero in the family. I find this okay to happen however, because Family Guy has also borrowed from the Simpsons, just a never ending cycle of sitcom themes.
The jokes in this episode i found very amusing and actually had a laugh while watching. I really liked the joke at the end on why Homer doesn't make as much money as his "white coworkers."
I agree that they actually had a good storyline in this episode. But as you mentioned it has been before in other shows and in my opinion it is getting a little old. Otherwise it did have good jokes and I also liked the ending joke about the “white coworkers.”
ReplyDeleteThis story line i thought was more of an actual problem or point in history, but i did not think it was as funny as last week's episode. However, i do agree that this theme has definitely been done before. I remember Family Guy has done this as well, like you've mentioned, so it does make the theme seem like it's getting a little old and overworked.
