The color yellow. episode 13

So after watching this Sundays latest Simpsons episode, I was relieved that it was getting better. I did enjoy this last episode. It had a good story, and clever and funny jokes - basically all i could hope for in a Simpsons episode.

I enjoyed that there was an actual story line to this episode, on my last blog about the previous episode there was a story line however I did not like it, maybe it was just because I don't find curling to be so entertaining at all. Or that I had to probably actually thinking when watching that episode. Whereas this one, you really didn't need to think at all to understand that jokes - no intellectualness needed. lol. This episode reminds me of a Family guy episode ( a little too much). Maybe stolen ideas? It is not exactly the same however, it does depict the family having black ties and making the jokes and puns to go along with that theme. In FG Peters wife's family (Lois) abused Peter and his ancestors which were indeed black. However, in this episode it was more along the lines of having a hero in the family. I find this okay to happen however, because Family Guy has also borrowed from the Simpsons, just a never ending cycle of sitcom themes.

The jokes in this episode i found very amusing and actually had a laugh while watching. I really liked the joke at the end on why Homer doesn't make as much money as his "white coworkers."

Episode 12 Season 21 - Boy meets Curl

So, so this was my second episode ever watching the Simpsons (the first being in class that one time) and I have to say I wish it was a better episode. I did not find it very humorous or entertaining at all; maybe I just did not understand the jokes. I am hoping that the next coming episodes are more entertaining.

This episode started out with a theme of "being romantic" in a couple. Homer and Marge are trying to regain their youth by attempting to go on dates and do romantic things. However, they find their new love in the sport of curling and rekindle their marriage that way. They end up joining the USA Olympic team and enter into the 2010 Olympics. Homer becomes sidetracked and cocky with the thought of winning a gold medal and becomes sloppy at throwing the stone. Marge has to pick up his slack with "sweeping" extremely fast and they end up winning the gold medal. This episode has a side plot of Lisa getting addicted to Olympic pins and eventually sells all she has including her pearls, and Bart has to help her overcome her addiction.

I did not find this episode to be humorous at all and I wish ti could have been a bit more funny even though it depicted what is going on today well. After watching it, I scrolled down to the reviews written by others under the video and they stated that "Best episode I've seen in a long time," which i do not understand. Maybe it is because I am not a die heart fan of Simpsons and don't understand exactly what is going on completely yet.

Stay tuned for more of how my abstinence of The Simpsons becomes something more....
